1. The similarities and differences in the structure of CNC machining programs
The NC machining program is composed of three parts: program start, several program segments, and program end.
Each program corresponds to a program name (ie program number). The extension of the main program of the SINUMERIK 802D system is MPF, which is automatically input by the system; while the extension of the subprogram is SPF, which must be input together with the file name. In the FANUC 0i system, the program numbers of the main program and the subprogram are the same, and both consist of the address "O" and the following 4 digits, such as O1111.
2. The similarities and differences of programming instructions
2.1 The method of expressing the coordinate value of the target point
The coordinate value of the target point in the program is expressed in coordinates or incremental coordinates, G90 and G91 respectively.
The SINUMERIK 802D system can also be set in size or relative size through AC or IC in the program, making programming more flexible.
2.2 Basic displacement instructions

b. Programming format
Establish tool radius compensation: G17(G18,G19)GO1(G00) G41(G42)XYD;
Cancel tool radius compensation: G17(G18,G19)GO1(G00) G40XYD;
Several explanations: Firstly, radius compensation must be performed in a certain plane; secondly, establishing and canceling radius compensation must be used in combination with G01 or G00 instructions; thirdly, X and Y in the program are the coordinates of the end point of G01 and G00 movement; Fourth, the D code refers to the storage address of the tool offset. The offset can be input in CRT/MDI mode.
(2) Difference
In SINUMERIK 802D system, G41 and G42 can be directly converted to each other, without G40 to cancel tool compensation. But in the FANUC 0i system, when the tool compensation direction is changed, the tool compensation must be cancelled through G40 before a new tool compensation can be established.
2.4 Tool length compensation command
Processing a workpiece often requires multiple tools, and the length of each tool is different. The tool length compensation function provided by the CNC system can ensure the correct processing of the workpiece. The length dimension offset is input in CRT/MDI mode.
For SINUMERIK 802D system, after calling the tool, the tool length compensation is automatically effective. The FANUC0i system needs to be set:

2.5 Canned cycle function
