CNC machine 850 adopts proper and reasonable tool setting method


After the tool is installed, the CNC machine 850 must first perform tool setting to determine the starting point position before executing the machining program. However, tool setting is often a headache for operators (economical CNC without self-testing device), which is time-consuming and time-consuming, especially when multi-tool processing requires tool compensation. Generally, the commonly used tool setting methods are:


Jog setting method


Press and hold the jog button on the control panel of the CNC machining center, and touch the tool tip to the surface of the workpiece (the jog is performed in two directions in X and Z directions), the counter is cleared, and then returned to the initial position that needs to be set ( X, Z design initial value), and then clear it to get the initial position of the knife. Determine the initial position of each knife in turn, and adjust to the accurate design position (starting point) after trial processing. This method does not require any auxiliary tools and can be operated at hand, but it takes a long time, especially when the tool must be re-adjusted every time the tool is sharpened.


This method is suitable for simple procedures or initial installation and commissioning.


The CNC machining center adopts the tool setting method. The tool setting tool selected by the machine tool has a self-testing device, but the operation is complicated and it still takes a certain amount of preparation time. Suitable for multi-tool measurement.


Using CNC tools


After the initial positioning of the CNC machining center tool installation, after a period of cutting, it will wear out and need sharpening. The position of the tip of the ordinary tool has changed when reinstalled after sharpening, and the tool needs to be re-calibrated. The CNC tool is characterized by high tool manufacturing accuracy. The repeated positioning accuracy of the blade after indexing is about 0.02mm, which greatly reduces the tool setting time. At the same time, the surface of the blade is coated with a wear-resistant layer (SiC, TiC, etc.) to make it durable The degree is greatly improved (3 to 5 times), but the cost is higher.


Using self-made knife block method


A simple tool setting block made of plastic, plexiglass, etc. can easily realize repeated positioning after sharpening of the tool, but the positioning accuracy is poor, usually 0.2~0.5mm, but it is still a quick positioning method. Very convenient soon.
