Locomotive fitters, due to the particularity of their working environment, are considered by many to be a field dominated by men. However, at CRRC Luoyang Locomotive Co., Ltd., the emergence of a "female man" has broken people's inherent stereotypes. She has superb skills and can produce workpieces accurate to microns. She has led the team to solve many technical problems and achieve many "firsts" in the industry. She is Zhang Suli, known as the "female leader of the fitter industry". With her unique skills, she graduated from a technical school and won the honors of "National March 8th Red Flag Bearer", "National Model Worker" and "National May 1st Labor Medal".
Let's take a video first to see her unique skills:
Zhang Suli is a fitter at the Luoyang Branch of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. and the chief technical expert of CRRC.

"Steel is also alive, and I have to be responsible for the quality of its life."
Locomotive fitters are mainly responsible for the assembly and maintenance of locomotives. They deal with machine tools and locomotive parts every day. In the eyes of many people, this is an area that men are good at. But at the Luoyang Branch of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., Zhang Suli broke people's stereotypes.
Entering CRRC Luoyang Locomotive Co., Ltd. with the first place in her major, Zhang Suli carefully studied each process and production process from fitter marking to mold making, striving to be dexterous and fast. "When practicing basic skills, it's common to have blisters on your hands and blood oozing from the tiger's mouth." Zhang Suli stretched out her hands, which were covered with scars and calluses.
When working on molds in a metalworking shop, since it is manual work, every component from the mold handle to the bottom plate needs to be carefully analyzed. "Steel is also alive, and I have to be responsible for the quality of its life." Zhang Suli said.
The fitter has very high requirements for the strength of the hand: if it is larger, it will be looser, if it is smaller, it will be tight. If it is too biased, it will be useless. The difficulty is that the strength is not easy to control. Zhang Suli said that the work of locomotive fitters often encounters challenges. For example, the accuracy error of some special measuring tools is less than half a wire, which is 0.005 mm, and the production is very complicated. "Not to mention human hands, even CNC machine tools are not necessarily It can be done." After years of practice, Zhang Suli's benchwork skills have become increasingly sophisticated, and the manual operation errors have become smaller and smaller.
Zhang Suli used a drilling and milling machine in the workshop to demonstrate: folding an A4 paper into two layers, and by operating the drilling and milling machine, she only drilled through the upper white paper with a drill, leaving the lower white paper without any damage. "Our actual work is much more complicated. If the accuracy is 0.1 mm, in actual work it may be 0.02 mm, or the size requirement is smaller." Zhang Suli said.
"The work she does is more precise and more accurate than that done by machines." Colleague Chen Pengwei repeatedly praised Zhang Suli's professional skills. "Don't underestimate this operation, it's a technical job; if you don't have a high professional level, you can't do it." Another worker said.

"The happiest thing than 'watching the mold become a finished product' is to teach technology to more people."
"To do what you should do well, you need to constantly learn new knowledge, explore new ways, and ensure the high quality of products with high standards." Zhang Suli said that in order to master new technologies, she taught herself CAD drawing, precise programming of wire cutting, Circuit design and troubleshooting of general machine tools, etc. Previously, an imported brake that had just been applied in China malfunctioned and needed to be dismantled and repaired. However, the workers in the workshop did not know where to start when faced with an unfamiliar brake, so they found Zhang Suli. There are no drawings, no technical information, and it takes too long to return to the factory. What should I do? "Just try it and do it bit by bit." For a whole afternoon, through constant groping and trying, Zhang Suli finally made this thing that she had never seen before. The brake is completely disassembled. "Overcoming technical problems is not that mysterious. Sometimes it is just a matter of solving the 'just a little bit' problem," Zhang Suli said.
And the value of this "almost" thing is often magnified many times in reality. The various new models she participated in the research and development have brought huge benefits to the company. The "DF4 locomotive side window blade forming mold" alone created an output value of more than 300,000 yuan.
Zhang Suli is called the "female leader of the fitter industry" by her co-workers, and is a "difficulty-overcoming professional" who specializes in "hard bones". Because of Zhang Suli's excellent professional skills, co-workers would habitually think of her when they encountered some unsolvable problems. Zhang Suli's apprentice Guo Yuru said that no matter which workshop encounters a problem, Zhang Suli will enthusiastically help and use the skills accumulated through practice to "solve the problem." What's more important is that while Zhang Suli continues to improve her own business level, she also takes the initiative to share her work experience with other workers.
Not only that, Zhang Suli also often goes to local and foreign technical schools to teach students exquisite skills in the internship field, allowing the skills to continue to create new legends through hand-to-hand teaching. "The happiest thing than 'watching the mold turn into a finished product' is to teach technology to more people." Zhang Suli said.

"Use your hands to make higher-quality motorcycles and contribute all your strength to the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry."
In 2011, Zhang Suli Skill Master Studio was established. It is one of the first 50 skill master studios in the country. It is committed to promoting the application of new technologies, solving production technology problems, overcoming quality and technical difficulties, and cultivating high-skilled talents. Zhang Suli gave full play to her own advantages and took advantage of the conditions and venue of the studio to clear up doubts and doubts of the workers in terms of wheel set assembly, tool improvement, creative improvement, and repair and recycling, making the studio a place for overcoming difficulties. A platform for communication and interaction, a classroom for growing talents. In the first two years after its establishment, Zhang Suli brought out more than 30 apprentices, 7 of whom obtained senior technician certificates, and 11 obtained technician certificates.
"When some problems arise, everyone will often come to Zhang Suli's studio to discuss them together, and finally solve the problem through ideological collision and brainstorming." Ji Hongbo, general manager of the Bogie Division of CRRC Luoyang Locomotive Co., Ltd., gave the studio a "like" .
Under the leadership of Zhang Suli, members of the studio continued to solve technical problems, overcame 46 technical quality difficulties such as the completion of the Guangzhou Metro rail inspection vehicle, and completed the manufacturing and assembly of high-end products such as the "I and II" type track formwork for the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway. , achieving many firsts such as "the first rail flaw detection vehicle built to adopt international standards" and "the first exported" in mainland China.
He was rated as a "National Technical Expert" at the age of 31, won the "Seventh China Skills Award" at the age of 32, won the "National May 1st Labor Medal" at the age of 35, and won the honorary title of "National Model Worker" at the age of 43... Behind each honor is Zhang Suli's hard work for 26 consecutive years.
Today, Zhang Suli still sticks to the front line. She said that although she is just a small fitter, she also has a big dream, which is to "make higher-quality motorcycles with both hands and contribute all her strength to the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry."
The following is an interview with Zhang Suli by Henan Satellite TV, her self-report and her colleagues' evaluation of her:
Zhang Suli, senior fitter technician of CRRC Luoyang Locomotive Co., Ltd.:
I am a senior fitter technician at CRRC Luoyang Locomotive Co., Ltd. and have been working for 27 years.
The job I am engaged in is mainly the assembly and maintenance of locomotives. I deal with machine tools and locomotive parts every day. Walking in the workshop where I work, I am no different from other male colleagues. But it is precisely because of my identity as a woman that I am destined to be different in this job.
Because my family's conditions at that time did not allow me to go to high school, I had no choice but to choose a technical school. Compared with boys, (girls) may be a little weaker in strength, but the advantage of girls is that they are relatively more careful than boys.
Later, I entered CRRC Luoyang Locomotive Co., Ltd. with the first place in the fitter major. From benchwork marking to mold making, I carefully study every process and production process, striving to be dexterous and fast.
When I watch the masters working, I also care about their thoughts, how they arrange their work, and what I do first in this craft. After more than two months, starting from the third month, I can basically operate it by myself.
The fitter has very high requirements for the strength of the hand. If it is larger, it will be looser, if it is smaller, it will be tight. If it is too biased, it will be useless. The difficulty is that the strength is not easy to control. Our work also often encounters impossible challenges. For example, the accuracy error requirement of some special measuring tools is less than half a wire, which is 0.005 mm, and the production is very complicated. Not to mention manpower, even CNC machine tools may not be able to do it.
Probably when we are getting close, the one who is cautious and extremely cautious at that time, when you look at that work, I can't wait to rub my eyes, I'm afraid I can't see clearly, it's this hand, I can't wait to rub it, and then that You need to find that point very steadily and accurately and cultivate that point.
After years of practice, my benchwork skills have become increasingly sophisticated, and the manual operation errors have become smaller and smaller.
