Benchtop 3 axis cnc milling machine instructs M29Sx x x x in the previous block of the tapping cycle G84 or counter-tapping cycle G74; the machine tool enters the rigid tapping mode. When the NC executes this command, the spindle stops, and then the spindle forward indicator light is on, indicating that it has entered the rigid tapping mode. The subsequent G74 or G84 cycle is called a rigid tapping cycle. In the rigid tapping cycle, the spindle speed and The feed of the Z-axis is strictly proportional and synchronous, so it is possible to use rigidly clamped taps to process threaded holes, and it can also increase the processing speed of threaded holes and improve processing efficiency.
The rigid tapping mode can be released by using G80 and 01 group G codes, and the rigid tapping mode can also be released by the reset operation
When using the rigid tapping cycle of benchtop 3 axis cnc milling machine, please pay attention to the following items:
1) The ratio (F/S) of the F value commanded in G74 or G84 to the S value commanded in the M29 block is the thread pitch value.
2) Sx x x x must be less than the value specified by parameter 0617, otherwise a programming alarm will occur when the canned cycle instruction is executed.
3) F value must be less than the upper limit of cutting feed 4000mm/min, which is the specified value of parameter 0527, otherwise a programming alarm will appear.
4) There can be no S command or any coordinate motion command between the M29 command and the G command of the canned cycle.
5) M29 cannot be commanded in the tapping cycle mode.
6) The S command cannot be executed in the first block after the rigid tapping mode is cancelled.
7) Do not execute rigid tapping commands in the trial run state.
