The general mold is divided into middle plate, upper mold, lower mold, guide rail, lower mold base, etc. This kind of mold has strong versatility, and most of the processing can be completed.

Different molds are required to process different parts. First of all, we must understand the processing parameters of machine tools and molds before we can choose the molds that match each other.

Machine tool parameters include: stroke, processing capacity, opening height, middle plate type, etc.; mold parameters include: upper mold handle type (matching with the middle plate), pressure tonnage (maximum bending pressure), etc.;

A about the selection of machine parameters


1. Selection of mold height

Stroke (mm) = height of opening - height of middle plate - height of upper mold - height of lower mold seat - (height of lower mold - 0.5V+t) t is sheet thickness (mm)


When choosing the lower mold base, it should also be noted that the lower mold base has a variety of heights, and the mold bases of different heights are used to match different processing.


Different mold combinations can be used to obtain different mold combination heights for processing different parts.


B about the choice of mold parameters

Select the appropriate tip R: generally use R0.6 below 3mm.

The tip angles of the standard upper die are: 90 degrees, 88 degrees, 86 degrees, 60 degrees, 45 degrees, 30 degrees; etc.

The included angle of the mold should be smaller than the processing angle. For example, if we bend the workpiece to 90°, we use an 88° included angle mold.

4. Lower mold form

The general lower mold has the difference between single V and double V, and there are divisions and whole sections in these two types. Different mold types are suitable for different processing needs.

Generally speaking, single-V molds are more versatile than double-V molds, and split molds are more versatile than whole-section molds. The lower molds used by our company are generally double V and triple V.
