Correction
The operation method of eliminating the bending or shape that should not be on the sheet or material is called correction. Correction is usually carried out using hand tools based on the principle of plastic deformation of the material.
Correction tools
The tools for manual correction include flat plates, iron drills, soft and hard hammers, screw pressure tools and inspection tools.
Correction methods
1〉Correction of sheet materials The sheet material needs to be corrected before reprocessing due to the bulge in the middle or irregular warping in various places. When correcting the sheet material with the bulge in the middle with a hand hammer, it should start from the edge of the bulge and gradually hammer to the middle to extend it. The hammering points should be from light to heavy until the correction is completed.
2〉Correction of bar materials When the bar material needs to be corrected due to bending. The bar material can be placed on the hand plate. Use a hand hammer to directly hammer the bulge, so that the rotation can be corrected. For larger materials, it can be corrected on the hydraulic press. If necessary, it can be heated for correction.
Bending is the process of bending a flat sheet, material, pipe, etc. into a desired curve or angle. Bending is the most common method in the assembly process. Bending is also performed based on the plastic deformation of the material.
Calculation of blank size before bending
(1) When bending a workpiece whose inner and outer edges are arcs, the blank size can be calculated by the following empirical formula: A = Π (r + x0t) a/1800:
a - neutral length of the arc part
r - inner bending radius
t - material thickness
a - center angle corresponding to the bending part
x0 - bending neutral layer position coefficient

(2) Bending a workpiece with a right angle on the inner edge and an arc on the outer edge. Blank size can be calculated according to the following formula:

Bending method
Common bending methods include cold bending and hot bending. When the material thickness is less than 5mm, cold bending is generally used, that is, bending at room temperature. When the material thickness is more than 5mm, hot bending is generally used.
Bending of sheet metal
1. Bending right-angle sheet metal workpieces Before bending, mark the line first, then hammer the bend with a hand hammer on the vise and hold the back. After hammering, loosen the vise and tighten the workpiece on the hammer until it is initially formed. It is best to use a rounding die made of iron sheet for correction. 2. Bending pipes Bending pipes can be done on a pipe bending punch. Generally, pipes with a diameter of 12mm or more are bent. Pipes with larger diameters must be hot bent. For pipes with a large diameter (10mm or more), dry sand is often used to make the bend round, and both ends are blocked with water plugs before being placed on the bending tool for bending.
