Summary of machine tool lubrication methods

Machine tool lubrication includes the lubrication of bearings, gears, guide rails and tips; machine tool lubricating grease includes: hydraulic oil, hydraulic guide oil and lubricating oil (grease). Different machine tool types and different working conditions have different requirements for the performance of lubricating oil products. .

The good working of the lubrication system is crucial to the working stability of CNC machine tools, especially hard rail machine tools. The lubrication system has a great impact on the working status and even the life of the machine tool.

Today we will talk about the control method of machine tool lubrication from the electrical side:

1. The electronic pump does not require PLC control, provides power, and supplies oil by setting the lubrication interval. Relatively simple, no pressure detection, cost-effective, and widely used in small machine tools.

2. Simple PLC logic controls oiling, and generally controls oiling at intervals by setting the time with a timer. In this method, no matter whether the machine tool is running or not, oil will be supplied at certain intervals. The oil supply efficiency is not high and it is easy to cause waste.

3. Optimize PLC control to judge the motion status of the machine tool. When using three axes, the lubrication time interval is short and oiling is slightly frequent. When stopped, the lubrication interval is long.

4. The most reasonable method in theory: use the running stroke of the shaft as the basis for lubrication. Add the moving strokes of the shaft together. When a certain value is reached, lubrication is performed. In addition, considering the load of the machine tool, when heavy cutting is required, slightly more frequent oil lubrication may be considered.
