Tank trucks clearly don’t differentiate between fuel numbers, so why are they divided into 92, 95, and 98 at gas stations?

There is no oil grade number on the tank truck? Not really!
As a special means of transportation, the tank truck does not necessarily have the grade number on the tank body, because most tank trucks currently use a compartment design. The compartment means that the tank body is separated by adding a partition board. The larger tank truck can be divided into 5 compartments, and each compartment will be equipped with a special oil unloading port.

Under the compartment design, the grade does not need to be marked on the surface of the tank body, but only needs to appear at the oil unloading port of different compartments, which is also convenient for the unloading personnel to identify and operate.

It should be noted that each tank bin is equipped with a separate oil pipeline and oil interface, and strict partition measures are taken between the bins. In addition to the strict design, the partition board must also have a good wave-proof function. In this way, let alone the bumpy road during transportation, even if there is an accident, it is not easy to confuse or leak between different oil products. In Sinopec, the tank trucks used for the transportation of gasoline and diesel oil products are strictly separated. If the tanker truck needs to change the oil, it needs to clean the tank specially, and it can only be changed to other oil after multiple levels of approval.

How to ensure that the oil is not unloaded into the wrong tank?
Each compartment of the tanker truck is connected to a separate oil delivery port, and the oil delivery port joint is marked, which is more convenient for the unloading personnel to identify and operate. The oil loading and unloading pipes of the oil depot and gas station are also marked accordingly.

In addition, when the tanker truck arrives at the gas station, the unloader will also sample and test the oil products in each compartment, and ensure that the oil products are correctly unloaded by measuring density, looking at appearance, smelling odor, etc., and only start unloading after passing the acceptance.

Why is the tanker truck designed like this?
The main purpose is to improve the distribution efficiency, timely supplement the different oil product needs of the same gas station, better serve customers, and reduce the strong impact of the bumps on the road of the tanker truck on the oil products in the cabin. In addition, the tanker truck with a compartment design can transport multiple oil products in one trip, greatly saving transportation costs. When transporting different oil products, separate tanker trucks will be strictly used for transportation. In addition, gas stations will strictly implement the "Eight-step Oil Unloading Method" to fully guarantee the quality of oil products at gas stations and provide car owners with high-quality and sufficient guarantees.

In addition, relevant government departments will regularly conduct on-site inspections at gas stations and issue test reports to ensure the safety and standardization of oil products.
