A screen has a higher cost-effectiveness, thanks to the continuous improvement of the industrial chain. Not only is the production scale continuously expanding, but the independent reliability of this industrial chain is also constantly increasing.
Opposite the display screen enterprise is the upstream supporting substrate factory. Through independent innovation, enterprises have developed luminous materials with independent intellectual property rights, which are ahead of similar international products, solve the problem of import monopoly of key materials for flexible screens, and achieve domestic substitution and mass production.

Hefei Xinzhan High-tech Zone, where these enterprises are located, is one of the most concentrated areas of the new display industry in the world. At present, there are 130 upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain. At the Economic Development Bureau, the reporter saw that the local new display industry panorama has changed from a broad upstream and downstream to a more detailed "fishbone diagram".

On the other hand, through large factories or leading enterprises, parameters and standards will be improved, which is very conducive to the development of a healthy ecological chain.
Data shows that in 2024, the output value of OLED display panels and modules in my country will exceed 100 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38%, accounting for 52% of the international market, and the market competitiveness and technological innovation capabilities will steadily improve.
Geng Yi, chief researcher in the display field of CCID Research Institute: The global foldable mobile phone market will continue to grow significantly in 2025, and the shipment volume in my country is expected to exceed 12 million units, accounting for half of the global market, with a growth rate of 35%. With the continuous improvement of production capacity and performance, the shipment volume and penetration rate of OLED in products such as smartphones and laptops will continue to rise, and are expected to quickly exceed 10%.
From 1 to N, the future of the small screen industry chain is promising
The foldable screen mobile phone market is in a rapid growth stage from 1 to N. The small screen that can be seen everywhere around us actually contains unlimited opportunities.
For the upstream of the industrial chain, a screen requires manufacturing equipment such as coating and packaging, glass, organic materials, polarizing plates and other materials, and assembly parts such as circuit boards. The design and manufacturing technology of these components can also drive the development of related new technologies such as liquid metal and 3D printing, and the industrial chain continues to extend.
For the downstream of the industrial chain, a screen leverages the large market of mobile phones, automobiles, wearable devices, and home furnishings, bringing more possibilities for electronic equipment, car displays and other products, and expanding to trillion-level scenarios such as medical interventional equipment and curved TVs. It is estimated that by 2027, the scale of foldable screen mobile phones in my country will reach 15 million, and the penetration rate of car-mounted flexible screens will exceed 15%.
At the same time, a small screen has brought more than 200 billion yuan of industrial investment, directly driven more than 500 companies to participate, and solved more than 100,000 jobs. Now, my country's OLED output value has exceeded 100 billion yuan, accounting for more than half of the global market, driving the output value of the new display industry to exceed 100 billion US dollars.
