The successful maiden flight of the Rainbow-7 stealth drone adds another core strength to China's high-end unmanned equipment.

At dawn at the Northwest Airport, a deep roar pierced the sky as the Rainbow-7 high-altitude, high-speed stealth unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) successfully took off. After smoothly completing a series of maneuvers including climb, cruise, and turns, it landed safely. This domestically produced high-end UAV, nicknamed the "Flying Bat," achieved a successful maiden flight, marking another crucial step forward in my country's development of high-end stealth UAVs.

This maiden flight was not a simple flight test, but a real-world verification of the Rainbow-7's core design and key technologies. The research team focused on testing the UAV's autonomous takeoff and landing, attitude control, and trajectory tracking. The test results perfectly matched the design specifications and simulation data, demonstrating the reliability and solidity of the technical solution. It's worth noting that the Rainbow-7 uses a unique high-aspect-ratio flying wing layout, lacks a tail fin, and features a complex aerodynamic system. Its development and flight testing are far more challenging than ordinary UAVs. The success of the maiden flight is the result of the researchers' relentless effort-starting work at 4 AM, meticulously monitoring every detail, and dedicating themselves to every step.

As a strategic high-end aviation equipment in my country, the Rainbow-7's core advantages are particularly formidable. Its stealth capabilities not only rely on its flying wing shape to shorten the enemy's radar detection range, but also include a stealth coating on the fuselage. Even the maintenance access panels and small screws have undergone specialized stealth treatment, making it a veritable "aerial ghost," capable of stealthily navigating undetected in high-risk combat environments. Functionally, it is also comprehensive, equipped with various high-performance devices such as visible light and infrared sensors. It can conduct long-duration high-altitude patrols and reconnaissance, accurately lock onto air and sea targets, and provide mid-course or terminal guidance for long-range strike weapons, significantly enhancing its information warfare capabilities and perfectly meeting the needs of future high-end combat operations.

From its first appearance at the 2018 Zhuhai Airshow to its public debut in 2024, attracting widespread attention, and now its successful maiden flight, every step of the Rainbow-7's progress has captivated the industry's attention. This maiden flight is just the beginning; further rigorous testing will be conducted to expand its flight performance, verify payload functions, and fully promote its practical combat capabilities. Its breakthrough not only completes a key link in my country's UAV technology system, but also truly demonstrates the core strength of domestically produced aviation equipment. Whether for safeguarding national defense or expanding international cooperation, there is ample room for future development.

This marks another important milestone in the development of domestically produced UAVs. The subsequent testing progress and practical application of the Rainbow-7 deserve close attention.
