To process a needle with a diameter of 0.12mm, is it more powerful with a lathe or with technology?

The accuracy of a lathe is very important. Someone tried to process a needle.
The first attempt was to turn 0.07mm. I couldn't imagine it. The jump was too big and it was directly scrapped.
The second attempt was to turn 0.1mm. It was almost successful. The jump was not so big, but it still broke.

Then it was thickened a little more, 0.12mm, and it succeeded in one try.
