New TNC7 CNC system

HEIDENHAIN's new TNC7 CNC system provides machine tool users and machine tool manufacturers with new programming methods and machine tool operation methods. A large number of intelligent functions, simple operation, task-focused and customizable, comprehensively improve the operation friendliness of workshop production. At the CIMT 2023 exhibition, the audience can experience its extraordinary charm in person.


The TNC7 control system not only provides graphical fixture setting functions, but now also provides new probing cycles. Users can quickly probe different types of workpieces with graphical support, including complex free-form workpieces. The TNC7 CNC system visually displays the entire production environment, including fixtures, workpieces and processing areas, effectively improving process reliability. During programming, these data can be used to generate realistic 3D simulation graphics of the machining process, now without switching operating modes.

New NC subroutine function and dark mode simplify programming

The new NC subroutine function of the TNC7 control system significantly simplifies programming operations. Users can save frequently used NC program blocks in favorites and add them to new programs at any time. When using this CNC system in low-light workshops, users will find the advantages of the new CNC system dark mode, the touch display is easier to read and significantly reduces eye fatigue.

Simple setup, efficient and reliable milling

HEIDENHAIN will demonstrate the processing of aerospace structural parts at the booth. Through the powerful functions of HEIDENHAIN TNC7 CNC system, from setting to final deburring, the processing can be completed easily, reliably and efficiently. The whole demonstration process takes about 15 minutes.

Grating scales and encoders

LC series linear encoders and RCN series angle encoders

In terms of functional components of machine tools, HEIDENHAIN's linear encoders of the LC series and angle encoders of the RCN series feature state-of-the-art optical systems for high measurement accuracy, including in environments contaminated with coolant and condensate. In many applications, these linear encoders and encoders do not require compressed air during operation. With reduced sealing air requirements, users benefit from fully closed-loop position measurement technology and significantly lower cost of ownership. In addition, the carbon footprint of the machine tool can be reduced by up to 99% due to the absence of sealing air.

LB 383 C: New linear encoders for long axes

The HEIDENHAIN LB 383 C enclosed linear encoder is the new star in the position measurement of long-length machine tool axes. With a measuring length of up to 72m, the new LB 383 C is equipped with a robustly designed reading head, which has stronger anti-pollution performance, and at the same time, maintains extremely high rigidity in the measuring direction. Higher process reliability and stronger control parameters are supported, resulting in better machine performance. The LB 383 C frame size is compatible with the LC 200 linear encoder, thus saving the user money. This not only reduces inventory requirements, but also eliminates the need for special connections for compressed air.

Broken tool detectors, probes

TD 110 Broken Tool Detector

The new TD 110 broken tool detector can detect tools with a diameter of 0.4 mm or more and detect tool breakage. Using the inductive measuring principle, the detector detects tool length changes of more than 2 mm without contact and detects the tool directly in the working area and while the spindle is turning at operating speed. Saving up to 6 seconds per tool change is time and cost effective. TD 110 is durable and compact, basically it can be installed near the table of different machine tools. The corresponding signals are transmitted to the CNC system via the probe interface. The control can display notification messages or trigger NC stops or user-specified responses for higher process reliability.

TS460 and TS760 probes

For setting and measuring workpieces in the machine tool, the HEIDENHAIN TS 460 workpiece probe is faster, supporting a measuring speed of 3000mm/min, saving up to 30% of probing time and saving more valuable production time for workshop production. The TS460 is equipped with a flushing/blowing cleaning function, which can remove any chips on the detection surface, effectively avoid incorrect measurement results, and achieve higher measurement accuracy. Furthermore, the probe can be optionally equipped with effective crash protection, which not only prevents damage to the probe, but also insulates the probe from heat.

The HEIDENHAIN TS760 probe can be used for workpiece measurement with extremely high 3D measurement accuracy and extremely small probing force. Therefore, this probe is an ideal choice for the measurement of precision workpieces and sensitive workpieces in the mold manufacturing industry. The measuring speed can reach 1000mm/min.
