T-slot milling cutters generally use high-speed steel and cemented carbide. For processing general free-cutting metals (under HRC30), high-speed steel can be selected. From the perspective of cost performance, welding alloys (inlaid alloys are more cost-effective). If the processing requirements are high and the accuracy requirements are high, it is recommended to use solid cemented carbide. The price will be much higher.


Compared with T-slot milling cutters with thread connection and double key connection, eccentric T-slot milling cutter has the following advantages:

(1) The positioning accuracy is high, and the radial runout of the cutter teeth is reduced, so that the cutting load of each cutter tooth is evenly distributed. The tool bar and the cutter body rotate tighter and tighter under the high-speed rotating spindle, which enhances the stability of the cutter head. It avoids the phenomenon of punching caused by the poor positioning accuracy of the threaded connection and the radial deflection.

(2) The ability to transmit torque is improved. Due to the effect of eccentricity, the cutter head and the cutter bar form a rigid connection, which prevents vibration during the cutting process.

(3) It is convenient to change the tool, avoid the deformation and seizure of the connecting part during cutting, improve the service life of the milling cutter and the cutter bar, and save a lot of auxiliary time.

(4) Save the material of the tool holder. When the milling cutter is damaged, the tool holder can continue to be used.
