FANUC 0MD System Alarm Explanations: Bookmark this if you find it useful-no need to flip through manuals anymore!
1. Program Alarms (P/S Alarms) | Alarm No. | Alarm Content
| Parameters that require a power cycle to take effect after modification; the power must be turned off and on again once parameter editing is complete.
| TH Alarm: Invalid program format detected in data input from a peripheral device.
| TV Alarm: Invalid program format detected in data input from a peripheral device.
| Input data exceeds the maximum allowable value. Refer to the relevant sections in the programming manual.
| The first character of a program block is not an address letter, but rather a digit or a minus sign ("-").
| An address letter is followed not by a digit, but by another address letter or a block termination character.
| Invalid use of the minus sign ("-")-either the minus sign appears after an address that does not allow negative values, or two consecutive minus signs appear.
| Invalid use of the decimal point (".").
| A character appears in a position where that specific character is not permitted.
| An invalid or unsupported G-code has been commanded.
| A cutting feed command was issued without specifying a feed rate.
| A synchronous feed command appears in the program (this machine tool does not support this function).
| An attempt was made to command simultaneous movement of four axes.
| During circular interpolation, the difference between the distance from the start point to the circle center and the distance from the end point to the circle center exceeds the value specified by Parameter No. 876.
| During circular interpolation, movement was commanded for an axis that does not lie within the selected circular interpolation plane.
| The tool compensation value specified by the H-code offset number is too large.
| When using tool length compensation or radius compensation, the tool compensation value specified by the H-code offset number is too large.
| An intersection point that is invalid within the context of tool radius compensation has been programmed.
| A circular interpolation command appears in the program block used to start or cancel tool radius compensation.
| An attempt was made to change the selected plane (using G17, G18, or G19) while in the tool radius compensation mode.
| While in the tool radius compensation mode, the start point or end point of a circular arc coincides with the circle center, which would result in an overcutting condition.
| A condition that would result in overcutting is detected during tool radius compensation. 043: An invalid T-code was commanded. 044: A G27, G28, or G30 command was issued while in Fixed Cycle mode. 046: An invalid value was assigned to the P-address within a G30 command (for this specific machine tool, the value must be 2). 051: An impossible motion was commanded in the program block immediately following an automatic corner chamfering or corner rounding block. 052: The program block immediately following an automatic corner chamfering or corner rounding block is not a G01 command. 053: In an automatic corner chamfering or corner rounding block, the address following the "," symbol is neither C nor R. 055: In an automatic corner chamfering or corner rounding block, the commanded travel distance is less than the specified C or R value.
During a sequence number search, the specified sequence number was not found. 070: The program memory is full. 071: The specified address was not found, or the specified program number was not found during a program search. 072: The maximum number of programs allowed in the program memory has been reached. 073: An attempt was made to use a program number that already exists while entering a new program. 074: The specified program number is not an integer between 1 and 9999. 076: The P-address is missing from the M98 subroutine call command. 077: The subroutine nesting depth exceeds three levels. 078: The program number or sequence number specified in an M98 or M99 command does not exist. 085: When inputting a program from a peripheral device, the input format or baud rate is incorrect. 086: When using the tape reader/puncher interface for program input, the peripheral device's ready signal was turned off. 087: When using the tape reader/puncher interface for program input-even though a "read stop" command was issued-the input did not stop after reading 10 characters. 090: The reference point return operation could not be executed normally because the current position is too close to the reference point or the travel speed is too low. 091: A manual return-to-reference-point operation was attempted while automatic operation was paused (specifically, while a remaining travel distance existed or an auxiliary function was being executed). 092: In a G27 command, the commanded position was reached, but it was detected that the position was not the reference point.

PWE = 1. After completing parameter modifications, set PWE to 0 and press the RESET key. 101: Power was switched off while the NC was refreshing memory contents during program editing or input. When this alarm occurs, set PWE to 1, switch off the power, and-while holding down the DELETE key-switch the power back on to clear the memory contents. 131: The number of PMC alarm messages exceeds 5. 179: The number of controlled axes specified by Parameter No. 597 exceeds the maximum allowable value. 224: An attempt was made to execute a programmable axis motion command before the initial return-to-reference-point operation was performed. 2. Servo Alarms (Alarm Codes)

Alarm Description: 400: Servo amplifier or motor overload. 401: The Velocity Controller Ready signal (VRDY) has been switched off. 404: The VRDY signal remains active, but the Position Controller Ready signal (PRDY) has been switched off. Under normal conditions, the VRDY and PRDY signals should both be present simultaneously. 405: Position control system error; the return-to-reference-point operation failed due to an issue within the NC or servo system. Re-attempt the return-to-reference-point operation. 410: Position error exceeds the set limit while the X-axis is stationary. 411: Position error exceeds the set limit while the X-axis is in motion. 413: Data within the X-axis error register exceeds the limit value, or the velocity command received by the D/A converter exceeds the limit value (possibly due to an incorrect parameter setting). 414: X-axis digital servo system error; check Diagnostic Parameter No. 720 and refer to the servo system manual. 415: X-axis commanded velocity exceeds 511,875 detection units/second; check Parameter CMR. 416: X-axis encoder failure. 417: X-axis motor parameter error; check Parameters No. 8120, 8122, 8123, and 8124. 420: Position error exceeds the set limit while the Y-axis is stationary. 421: Position error exceeds the set limit while the Y-axis is in motion.
Data within the Y-axis error register exceeds the limit value, or the velocity command received by the D/A converter exceeds the limit value (possibly due to an incorrect parameter setting). 424: Y-axis digital servo system error; check Diagnostic Parameter No. 721 and refer to the servo system manual. 425: Y-axis command speed exceeds 511,875 detection units/second; check parameter CMR. 426: Y-axis encoder failure. 427: Y-axis motor parameter error; check parameters 8220, 8222, 8223, and 8224. 430: Y-axis position error exceeds the set limit while stopped. 431: Y-axis position error exceeds the set limit while in motion. 433: Data in the Z-axis error register exceeds the limit value, or the speed command received by the D/A converter exceeds the limit value (possibly due to an incorrect parameter setting). 434: Z-axis digital servo system error; check diagnostic parameter 722 and refer to the servo system manual. 435: Z-axis command speed exceeds 511,875 detection units/second; check parameter CMR. 436: Z-axis encoder failure. 437: Z-axis motor parameter error; check parameters 8320, 8322, 8323, and 8324.
3. Overtravel Alarms (Alarm Numbers)
Alarm Description: 510: X-axis positive soft limit overtravel. 511: X-axis negative soft limit overtravel. 520: Y-axis positive soft limit overtravel. 521: Y-axis negative soft limit overtravel. 530: Z-axis positive soft limit overtravel. 531: Z-axis negative soft limit overtravel. 4. Overheat and System Alarms: Alarm 700 indicates an overheat condition on the NC main printed circuit board; Alarm 704 indicates a spindle overheat condition. Other alarms in the 6xx series are PMC system alarms, while those in the 9xx series are NC system alarms. If users encounter any of the aforementioned alarms, please contact FANUC immediately to arrange for service.
