"It is very difficult to reduce the thickness by even 0.01 mm and requires the coordinated efforts of all production departments." Mo Zhiying, senior engineer of Shougang Metal Materials, has a deep understanding of this. In the steelmaking process, the carbon and oxygen content of the entire furnace of Shougang Jingtang Steelmaking Converter (a key indicator for measuring the cleanliness of molten steel) has reached the international leading level, and it has first produced pure slabs with a thickness of 230 mm and a width of 1 meter. In the hot rolling and cold rolling processes, the slab gradually becomes thinner during multiple rolling and annealing processes. In February 2022, the thickness of Shougang's "Cicada Wing Steel" was successfully reduced to an ultra-thin specification of 0.07 mm, marking a new level of Shougang Jingtang's high-end product manufacturing capabilities.
