Cutting fluid is an essential tool in the lubrication and cooling process of processing machinery. In summer, problems such as odor, deterioration, and rusting of parts are often prone to occur. Many customers and friends consult the reasons and solutions. In fact, there are two main reasons for the decrease in the use of cutting fluid in summer, one is temperature, and the other is bacteria.
In summer, this is very conducive to the growth of bacteria in the cutting fluid, and more bacteria will directly cause the cutting fluid to smell and deteriorate. To prevent the stinking and deterioration of the cutting fluid, we must first understand the channels through which bacteria enter the cutting fluid.
In the production process of cutting fluid, emulsified oil is often used as the main raw material. If the water used to prepare the emulsified oil contains bacteria, the prepared cutting fluid will naturally not be able to avoid the carrying of bacteria. When the cutting fluid is in contact with air during the preparation process, the bacteria in the air will also enter the cutting fluid. From the current cutting fluid production process, the invasion of these two bacteria is often difficult to control. In addition, the operation of the work piece, the bad habits of the operators, the cleanliness of the workshop, and the cleaning of the water tank have a great influence on the bacteria in the cutting fluid.
In response to questions from customers and friends, Chenghai Machine Tool recommends that everyone try to use cutting fluids of high quality and good biological stability. In addition, in the process of using cutting fluid, to prevent the odor and deterioration of the cutting fluid, the following points need to be done:
1. Regularly check the concentration of cutting fluid
Here you need to use refractometer equipment to control the concentration within a reasonable range. If the concentration is too high, the cutting fluid is likely to cause allergies to the skin of the operator. If the concentration is too low, it will cause a lot of corrosion of bacteria.
2. Avoid mixing
Minimize the oil leaking from the machine tool into the cutting fluid, because the oil used by the machine tool contains bacteria.
3. Control the PH value
When the pH value of the cutting fluid is too low, new cutting fluid should be added in time to increase the pH value. When the pH value of the cutting fluid is between 8.3 and 9.2, it is difficult for bacteria to survive.
4. Clean environment
Do a good job in the cleaning of the workshop environment, do not let the cutting fluid come into contact with dirty oil, food, tobacco and other dirt; do a good job in the operation and maintenance training of the processing staff's cutting fluid.
Through the above methods, the problem of cutting fluid quality deterioration can be avoided from the source and operation, so that our machining center equipment can still maintain good cutting performance in summer.
