How To Solve The Damage Of Endmill Of Cnc Vertical Machining Center V1165 ?


The cutting tool is very important to the cnc vertical machining center V1165. It is the executor of all processing procedures, so the cutting tool also has the characteristics of being easy to wear and tear. Tool breakage will affect the cutting edge, resulting in poor cutting conditions. We must pay enough attention to the causes of tool damage, so as to reduce the adverse effects of tool damage.


When the tool breakage is manifested in the chipping of the cutting edge or tip


This type of damage often occurs in environments with harsh cutting conditions. It is often developed from the blade chipping, and the tool has to stop working after it completely loses its cutting ability. We call the common situation of tool breakage as tip drop.


Broken blade or knife


When the cutting amount is too large, impact load is generated, and microcracks occur in the blade or tool material. When there is residual stress in the blade due to welding and sharpening, coupled with factors such as careless operation, the blade or tool may be broken. After this type of damage occurs, the tool can no longer be used, resulting in scrap.


Ways to prevent tool breakage


1) Reasonable tool selection.


Before mass production of workpieces, various types and grades of tool materials should be reasonably selected according to the characteristics of the processed materials and parts. On the premise of ensuring certain hardness and wear resistance, the necessary toughness of the tool material must be taken into account;


2) Correctly set the tool geometry parameters.


During the machining process, the angle parameters such as the front and rear angle, the main and auxiliary deflection angle, and the blade inclination can be adjusted to ensure that the cutting edge and the tool tip have better strength. Grind a narrow plane on the cutting edge at a certain angle. This narrow plane called negative chamfer is an effective measure to prevent tool chipping;


3) Strict welding process


Ensure the quality of welding and sharpening, and avoid various defects caused by improper welding and sharpening. For cutting tools used in key processes, the knives should be ground to improve the surface quality and check for cracks;


The tool life of the vertical machining center can be effectively extended by correct prevention.
